My Goals For My Fitness - 1520 Words

In gym class I made goals to better myself with my personal fitness and that I did. In this paper I will outline how I scored on my fitness tests and how this correlates to improvement or regression, why there was a change or not a change with my scores from Baseline to posttest, and Goals I have for myself to continue to be physically for the remainder of High School and beyond. On my 12 Min. Run in 9th grade, I ran 2600 meters on the Baseline and improved 175 meters to 2775 meters for my posttest. In 10th grade I ran 2700 meters on my Baseline and my posttest showing I stayed at a steady pace for the entirety of the semester. For the 12 min. swim in 9th grade I swam 15 laps for my Baseline and 21 for my posttest, which is a 6-lap†¦show more content†¦On my Baseline test for the bench press I benched 90 pounds, which was 72% of my body weight. On the posttest I benched 95 pounds, which was 79% of my body weight. This was a 5-pound increase from my Baseline. In 10th grade I benched 85 pounds, which was 70% of my body weight. This was a 10-pound decrease from my last test in 9th grade. For the posttest I benched 100 pounds, which was 80% of my body weight. I had an increase of 20 pounds from my baseline to my posttest. The final test was the sit and reach. In 9th grade I scored 3 inches for both my Baseline and posttest, showing that I stayed steady w ith my flexibility. In 10th grade I scored 3 inches on the Baseline, which was steady with what I scored in 9th grade. For the posttest I scored 4 inches, which was a 1-inch improvement from my Baseline. In 9th grade my scores on improved the 12-minute run due to running for my fall sport and in gym class. The decrease in my Post Test for 9th grade, and my Baseline for 10th grade is that I did not run over the summer as much as I had wanted to. On my posttest, for 10th grade, I did not improve due to the fact that we had to run in the gym instead of the track due to inclement weather, and running around a track is a lot easier than running in a gym. On the 12-minute swim I improved in 9th grade, because I was staying very active outside of the pool with my fall sport, which naturally translated to more laps in the pool.
